Dear Hiland Student Athlete Parent,
The purpose of this letter is to inform you about the East Holmes Council, Inc. aka. Hiland Athletic Booster Club (HABC) a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization was established to provide financial assistance to all Hiland sports programs. Our goal is to make sure that all student athletes have adequate equipment and facilities to allow them to achieve greatness in sports and academics. We provide funds for equipment, facilities, camps, leagues, and financial assistance.
The HABC has been blessed to have a community that has provided financial and fundraising support for many projects. The HABC could not exist without the support of the community. The support has come from financial donations, fundraising teams, and in-kind exchanges of time and material. Without that support Hiland would not have the excellent facilities and the cost for your student athlete could increase. We want to make sure that the student athletes continue to have the same great opportunities and facilities to have continued success on the sports field and as well as the classroom.
The current board of directors includes:
President: Jason Hummel (serving 8 years)
Vice President: Bob Habeger (serving 5 years)
Treasurer: Daniel Beachy (serving 1 year)
Secretary: Tracy Cooper (serving 3 years)
Asst. Treasurer: Molly Mohr (serving 4 years)
I would like to thank all current and past board members for their commitment of time and expertise making sure that our student athletes have opportunities to succeed. I would also like to thank the many people that have volunteered to help fundraise and manage the larger projects that have been completed through the Booster Club.
As we move forward and look to continue to provide great opportunities for our student athletes we need to ask for assistance. School districts continue to struggle with increasing costs and are receiving less money to provide services. In the future the sports programs will likely rely on greater support from the HABC. It is important that the HABC continue in the future and for this to happen we need to get more parents involved in the organization. We need new people willing to learn and participate in the organization. Some of the opportunities for you are to serve on the board of directors, fundraising, and helping at events.
The HABC meets one Monday a month during the school year. All planning and approvals take place during these meetings. The majority of the fundraising comes from annual Booster donations, program advertising, Classic In The County, and team fundraising.
If you are interested in participating in the HABC please call Jason Hummel at 330-473-0099 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Jason Hummel, President
Hiland Athletic Booster Club
Hiland… Heritage… Honor…
For many years, community volunteers have stepped up through the Athletic Booster Club to help Hiland’s athletic programs. What you see today, from the Perry Reese Community Center to the recently completed track, much time and money was invested to make our school’s athletic facilities some of the best.
We’re so thankful for the hard work, dedication and commitment of our community. Events like Classic in the Country could never happen without all the “sweat equity” by the volunteers. If you’ve never been a part of the “Club,” Please consider making an investment in all the kids in Hiland Athletics. We have several levels of support to meet your budget. For more information, please contact Jason Hummel, Eric Gerber or Molly Mohr (all Hiland Grads!)
