Kids/Parents are trying to jam their summer family activities in before school starts.  For a lot of student athletes, their “school” has already started. Fall Sports Pre-Season Parents Mtg Reminder

Just a reminder that Hiland’s mandatory pre-season parents meeting will be held next Monday, 7/27 @ 6pm in the Hiland Auditorium.  There will be a brief meeting with everybody then you’ll separate to meet your coach for further discussion. Please plan to attend.

Boys/Girls Track Awards

On Friday, June 19, Hiland Track had their awards banquet.  Those receiving honors were: Sarah Menuez (left) Miss Track, Melissa Hostetler Most Points, Brennan Coil (left) Mr. Track, Collin Blochlinger Most Points Field, Garret Snow (not pictured due to basic training) Coaches Award. Congrats!!  

Hiland Track Records Broken

This spring’s track season was one for the record books! In addition to having three participants in the state event, head coach Mark Fowler received The Daily Record’s Track Coach of the Year award (DR’s Saturday June 13, 2015 article). State Track Summary

Over the two-day event for boys and girls state track, here’s a summary of what the Hiland athletes were able to do: Sophomore Matt Troyer ran a 49.95 in the 400m Dash preliminary heat on Friday morning.  This time put him 2nd in his heat (3rd overall) to qualify for the finals on Saturday morning.

State Track Friday Update 6pm

Matt Troyer starts things off this morning by finishing 3rd overall in the qualifying 400m dash heat with a PR of 49.95. Matt will run in the finals tomorrow at 10:35am Next up: Collin Blochlinger in High Jump and Brennan Coil in Shot Put (both at 1pm) then Collin with another chance in the Long

Clyde Yoder Co-POY D4 Baseball

Hiland Senior Clyde Yoder was named All-Ohio Division 4 Co-Player of the Year this week. Back in December, Clyde signed to continue his baseball career with Malone University. Congratulations Clyde!

Softball Banquet Honors
